Born in 1949 as Don Romeo in Los Angeles, California, HG Deena Bandhu Das joined ISKCON after discovering Bhagavad-Gita As It Is at the University of Notre Dame. Initiated by Srila Prabhupada, who named him Deena Bandhu Das (“servant of the friend of the humble”), he became the first devotee at the Boulder, Colorado temple and helped establish the Dallas temple. Settled in Vrindavan since the 1970s, he is renowned for guiding pilgrims through Vraja’s holy sites, sharing captivating stories of Krishna’s pastimes. He restored Vrinda Kunda, authored Vraja-Lila books, and travels globally, enchanting devotees with his humorous, insightful seminars on Krishna consciousness.
